Permanent Great Looks brings you this quality non-invasive procedure. ' Collagen Induction Therapy' or 'Skin Needling' is promised to be as effective as laser resurfacing, dermabrasions and chemical peels. All without any side effects and faster healing time.
What is CIT “Skin Needling”?
It is a sophisticated technique which promotes the body's natural production of collagen and melacantis (pigment producing cells). This process smooths out scars, wrinkles and can even the tones of some skin discolorations. This non-envasive intradermabrasion procedure is long lasting and all natual rejuvenation for the skin.
It has similar results to Laser, Chemical Peels and other Dermabrasion treatments but with less damage to the epidermis. This gives better long-term results as more healthy skin and blood vessels are left intact to promote healing and deposit collagen. Frequent ongoing treatments are still possible, unlike other methods of resurfacing which eventually thin and age the skin due to the destruction of whole layers of epidermis.
Skin Needling can treat sensitive areas that other treatments have to avoid, such as lower eyelids and neck and the back of hands.
Needling is safe with stringent cross-contamination standards, and because nothing is injected, allergic reactions and side-effects are non-existent. Needling, or CIT, is a minimally invasive procedure. With rapid healing, low downtime and simple aftercare, needling is an attractive solution for scars and wrinkles for most people.
How Does CIT Work?
You will have an anaesthetic cream applied to the treated area for 15-20 minutes, for a numbing sensation.
Collagen Induction Therapy then works by inserting tiny micro needles into the skin creating thousands of perforations. These microscopic perforations stimulate your body’s own natural electrical response.
These natural signals induce your body’s own natural human growth factor (PDGF), to transform into growth factor (TGF beta). This will increase blood circulation to the penetrated area, and stimulate collagen, and elastin production. The new collagen and elastin matrix can continue rejuvenation for up to 12 months.
The Result: All without destroying the epidermis, the skin will be nourished, oxygenated, and restructured from the inside and out.
Since the epidermis is left intact, the healing period is rapid. The skin does not experience sun sensitivity, skin colour loss, hyper-pigmentation or thinning of the skin. Standard care and cleanliness are all that is required during healing.
The thick fibers of collagen support the skin. If the elastin and collagen are in poor condition, the skin lacks resiliency, sags, and develops noticeable wrinkles.
What Does CIT Do?
• Smoothes wrinkles and expression lines • Improves skin texture and tightness • Relaxes scars • Improves depressed acne scarring • Improves skin pigmentation • Improves stretch marks • Repairs smoker’s lines · White or light colored scars · Improve crow’s feet around the eyes • Smooth and tighten eyelid skin • May be performed on the whole face or in specific regions any where on the body. • Can replace melanin in scars · Improvess large pores on face
Skin Needling is for not:
• For keloids or raised scars, Ask me about scar camouflaging for options
• Dark or red scars
How long does CIT last?
Some clients see immediate results from skin needling, others notice improvement gradually over an 8 week period, up to 3 months. Individual results vary as each body’s regeneration is unique. Use of other skin treatments including vitamins A and C, can help prevent loss of collagen, and scars remain replumped. Most clients require multiple sessions to achieve desired results that generally can last years.

The skin is red and swollen for a few days with a light scab covering the treated area. This happens with any skin penetration procedure. However, a light cover of make-up will conceal any marks so a normal routine may be continued. For about 24 hours post skin needling, there may be some weeping/oozing of the skin. A dressing is applied for 24 hours to help with this. Outer healing occurs within 4-5 days. Although some immediate improvement is noted, inner healing (dermis) continues to smooth and tighten the skin for the next 6-9 months as collagen is laid down in a smoother, more regular manner. Note: If you are prone to cold sores, the healing area may become infected if you have a cold sore breakout during this period. Bacterial infection is also possible but very unlikely. As the skin is not torn, scarring is extremely rare. Some people develop milia (small white dots) on the skin as it heals. These can be removed easily. Also acne-breakouts may occur after treatment .
Fine lines and wrinkles may only need one procedure. Medium depth wrinkles may initially need two, each treatment being 4-6 months apart. Severely deep wrinkles may initially need three treatments 4-6 months apart. Because Skin Needling does not destroy the epidermis, and in fact improves skin texture and thickens the dermis, this treatment can be repeated many times. This is the only technique to do this. In comparison to prolonged recovery time from laser and chemical peels, a few days healing period is a desirable alternative.
SCARS FROM ACNE & INJURIES
The pitted scars left from acne, chicken pox, and other injuries can be plumped with skin needling to give the skin a more even, smoother texture. Scars from surgeries, including tummy tucks, can also benefit from needling. The skin color can be evened out so the differences in tone are more subtle. Works for face and body.
STRETCH MARKS & WHITE SCARS
Needling can also activate the production of melanocytes to restore a more even, natural skin tone to white or light scars. This is good for scars that are lighter from injuries, surgeries, and stretch marks. Works on most skin types. UV exposure during healing can improve results.
WRINKLES ON FACE & NECK
Fine, medium, or heavy wrinkles all respond well to needling. Natural collagen is produced to fill lines for more smooth skin. The results are very similar to those from lasers, but is more gentle to the skin. Needling may not completely erase lines, but clients report being told their skin looks years younger.
Scar tissue that is tight or impairs movement can be softened and relaxed to increase flexibility and movement in scars.
